About the format
A self-portrait in nine covers
The idea is simple: a three-by-three grid of the nine video games that shaped who you are. Not necessarily the best games ever made, and not the ones you feel you should list. The point is honesty. The platformer you finished a dozen times as a kid belongs next to the online shooter where you met your best friend, and the quiet farming game that got you through a long winter counts as much as any award winner.
People post their grids to start conversations. Friends spot the overlap, argue about the one wildcard pick, and ask the question the grid is really built for: why that one? That is why a good template matters. When the covers are crisp, the order is deliberate and a few picks carry a short note, the grid reads like a small self-portrait rather than a random collage.
How it works
Using the my 9 games template

Pick a square
Click any of the nine squares and a search panel opens. Type a few letters and choose the game. Titles and cover art come from the Steam store, so most PC games appear with their official library artwork.

Fill the gaps your way
Not on Steam? Upload your own image or add the title as a typeset tile. Console exclusives, handheld classics, mobile games and even arcade cabinets all fit.

Put them in order
Drag covers to rearrange them, or press and hold on a phone. On a keyboard, focus a square and use Shift with the arrow keys. Add a short caption under any pick to explain it.

Export and post
Choose Ink or Paper, poster or square covers, then export. The square image comes with a numbered index of your picks; the story image is sized for vertical posts.
Choosing
The games that made you
If you are stuck, sort by chapters of your life instead of by quality. One game from childhood, one you played with a sibling or a roommate, one that taught you a genre, one you still return to every year, one that surprised you. Nine slots fill up faster than you expect, and leaving out a favorite is part of the fun.
Order matters more than it looks. Most people read the grid left to right and top to bottom, so the first square works like a headline and the center square pulls the eye. Put the game you most want to talk about in one of those spots, and let the corners hold the deep cuts that only a few friends will recognize.

Is this 9 games that define me maker free?
Yes. There is no account, no paywall and no download limit. The small QuizWho credit at the bottom of the image is the only branding.
Where do the game covers come from?
When you search, titles and artwork are loaded from Steam's public store and image servers. QuizWho does not host or sell the artwork. It belongs to the respective publishers and appears here only so you can identify the games you picked.
Can I add games that are not on Steam?
Yes. Choose Upload your own image in the search panel, or type the title and add it as a text tile. Uploaded images are resized on your device and stay in your browser.
Will my grid be saved?
Your grid is saved automatically in this browser's local storage, so you can close the tab and finish later. Clearing your browser data removes it.
How do I share my grid?
Export the square or story PNG and post it anywhere. You can also copy a link that rebuilds your grid for friends. The link carries Steam games, titles and captions, but not uploaded images.
Which size should I post?
Use the square export (2048 by 2048 pixels) for feeds on Bluesky, X, Threads and Instagram, and the story export (1440 by 2560 pixels) for vertical formats such as Stories.
